Francis Ouimet Cup

Celebrating achievements on the US Am Tour

Introducing: The Francis Ouimet Cup

Francis Ouimet was an American amateur golfer who is frequently referred to as the “father of amateur golf” in the United States. He won the U.S. Open in 1913, as an amateur, defeating the likes of professional legends Harry Vardon and Ted Ray. Ouimet rose to the challenge, showcasing his grit and determination by outplaying seemingly superior competition on the grandest stage in golf. He embodied exactly what this award represents.

Introduced in 2025, the U.S. Am Tour “Francis Ouimet Cup” will be awarded to the player who has the highest (best) finish in their new flight at the 2026 National Championships. Any player who earned a Performance Promotion to a better flight from Nov 1, 2025 to Sep 1, 2026 and competes at the 2026 National Championships in their new flight will be eligible to win the 2026 Francis Ouimet Cup. There will be one winner* at the 2026 National Championship and one winner* at the 2026 Senior National Championship.

*If there is a tie for highest (best) finish in multiple flights, the tiebreaker will go to the player with the higher National Player of the Year point total after points are awarded for the 2026 National Championships.
