U.S. Am Tour Announces Return to Sunriver in 2026, 2028 and 2030

The Tour is excited to announce our 2026 National Championships will be contested at the magnificent Sunriver Resort, just outside of Bend, Oregon. Qualifiers from across the country will come together and compete for a place in Tour history, with the honor of becoming National Champion in their respective flight on the line! The National Championship and Senior National Championship are 72-hole stroke play Championships (with no cut) worth triple points for the National Player of the Year race.

Each player in the field will be guaranteed at least one round on Crosswater, Meadows, and Woodlands. Crosswater has been named a top 100 golf course in the U.S. according to Golf Digest while Meadows and Woodlands have hosted illustrious amateur championships in their own right. Sunriver will also play host the the 2031 USGA Mid-Amateur Championship and the 2036 USGA Junior Amateur Championship.

The Tour is thrilled to be returning to Sunriver Resort for the third time in four years, with its debut in 2023 and return in 2025 receiving absolutely rave reviews. Between the world-class golf, incredible lodging & restaurant options, and the endless outdoor activities that Bend / Sunriver area has to offer, this is a National Championship you do not want to miss! We hope to see you in the beautiful Pacific Northwest for our flagship event on Tour in September!!

Eligibility & Qualifying Information

Each player that is approved to compete in the National Championship must be both “Eligible” and “Qualified”:

Eligibility

Each player obtains eligibility as described below. Please note a tournament round is defined as a posted 18-hole tournament score on Tour during the 2026 season. For definition, the 2026 season is from October 1, 2025 – August 24, 2026.

  • Championship & Senior Championship Flight – Four (4) total rounds must be completed on Tour during the 2026 season.
  • All other Flights – Six (6) total rounds must be completed on Tour during the 2026 season. At least two (2) of the rounds must come on/after June 1, 2026.

The primary function and purpose of eligibility is to help ensure proper flighting at the National Championships.

Qualifying

There will be a priority system in place with priority given in the following order:

  1. Past National Champions
  2. Past Founding Member Champions from 2020 (Innisbrook & Mission Hills)
  3. Top 5 and Ties, per flight, from 2025 National Championships
  4. Top 3 and ties from any Major Championship in the 2026 season
  5. Any 3-time Champion on Tour from the 2026 season
  6. Any player who earns a “Performance Promotion” to a better flight in the 2026 season
  7. Top 3, not previously qualified above, from the 2026 Order of Merit
  8. Top 2 finishes and ties, not previously qualified above, from your local (home) 2026 Tour Championship
  9. Top 33% of each flight per Tour

    Players are encouraged to apply early and must be a member in good standing. A position in the field is not guaranteed and is limited to the first 400 per championship.

    *Note: Flight demotion requests will pause as of May 31st, 2026 and reviews for demotions will resume after National Championships have completed.
